PLA Filament
Roffelsen 3D PLA filament is a bio-sourced homopolymer obtained from corn starch. It is biodegradable under the conditions for industrial, i.e. not home, composting (temperature 58°C,
90% biodegradation within a maximum of 6 months) and eligible to EN 13432 and EN 14995.
Polylactic acid (PLA) is a natural alternative to polyethylene. Roffelsen 3D PLA filament is easy to print and odourless. It provides a very good colour coverage and batch-to-batch colour consistency. It prints details with high resolution and good surface quality. It has low shrinkage and does not require the use of a heated build plate.
Overall, PLA is not as tough as more technical materials, however, some functional and mechanical parts are still possible to print from PLA. Temperature resistance of PLA is limited to approximately 60°C.
The PLA filament of Roffelsen 3D is intended for consumers / home use but also for certain industrial applications: creation of everyday objects, toys, prototypes and for use in modelling.
It offers the following features:
-
Easy to print
-
Very good colour coverage
-
Batch-to-batch colour consistency
-
Low shrinkage
-
Odourless
Eligible for industrial composting (EN 13432 & EN 14995)
